Interactive media planning and buying firm Beyond Interactive on Monday planted its
flag on European soil with the acquisition of media21, a London-based online media
buying outfit.

Financial terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.

The newly-acquired firm — whose name will be changed to Beyond Interactive
— marks the company’s first foray into the European market. In April,
Beyond Interactive opened offices in Hong Kong, China, and Mexico City.

Rick Sareen, a co-founder of media21, will become chairman of the new
Beyond European division. Plans include a rapid expansion of the London
office, and the establishment a European network based out of that office.

“Our acquisition of media21 allows us to move into the European marketplace
with the skill, reputation, and experience of a company who, like Beyond,
has been in interactive marketing since the industry was in its infancy,
and one who shares our vision and corporate culture as well,” said Jonn
Behrman, chief executive officer, Beyond Interactive, Inc.

“This is an important move in establishing our international network. The
Web is a global marketing medium and following this announcement today, the
clients of Beyond Interactive have the opportunity to capitalize on this
like never before.”

Clients of media21 include BOL.com, QXL.com, 365
Corporation
, Blue Square, Kitbag.com, Switch2.net, VNU, upmystreet.com, RBS Advanta card, Virgin.net, Another.com, Channel 4, and uTravel.

Beyond Interactive is a partner company of the Grey Global Group.
