Universal Music Group and BMG Entertainment went global Wednesday with
the international expansion of GetMusic
LLC
, the duo’s online music content and commerce joint venture.

The multiple-year commitment will expand the Internet content and commerce
destination from the U.S. to markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

GetMusic will customize its overseas offerings with country-specific content
and language. Under the direction of Andrew Nibley, GetMusic’s New
York-based president and chief executive officer, operations will be run
from an international head office in London. The first phase of the roll-out
will include territories such as the U.K., France, Germany and Japan.

“Taking GetMusic international is a great testimonial to the ongoing support
by both BMG and Universal Music Group,” said Nibley.
“By giving us additional resources to customize GetMusic for specific
territories, we are able to offer our overseas customers an
even more personal and engaging experience.”
