Microforum Inc.
subsidiary Internet Frontier (iFront) recently launched Canada-based Business Depot’s instant Web creation center.
Business Depot is one of Canada’s largest and fastest-growing office supply
retailers. Through iFront, Microforum has been handling all of Business
Depot’s Internet-related initiatives, including the company’s official bilingual Web site and online store.
The instant Web creation center, named “Cyber Central,” will be connected to
Microforum’s hosting facilities, and will allow the creation of an entire
Web site at any Business Depot location across Canada.
The user is guided through a series of easy steps, choosing from a number of
custom templates and images simply with the click of a mouse. When
completed, the site gets published instantly, is automatically registered
with major search engines, and is immediately accessible.
Cyber Central was developed entirely with Microsoft-based technology to
capitalize on the advanced features and benefits offered in Internet
Explorer 4.0, Windows NT, Internet Information Server, and Site Server,
Commerce Edition, as well as Microsoft’s Component Object Model software architecture.
Business Depot plans to extend Cyber Central to each of its 110 store locations across Canada by Summer 1998.
