Online music services provider ChaosMusic has launched two new
online entertainment services in a move to accommodate anticipation the
convergence of digital media delivery technologies in Australia.
ChaosVision and ChaosRadio will provide on-demand
streaming entertainment by using the Microsoft MP3 player to deliver
content through the ChaosMusic portal.
The two channels will initially be made available free of charge to
ChaosMusic members from June, and through a combination of resources with
Groove FM, Kgrind, the OzWorld Network and take40.com, the sites will
showcase Australian entertainment content internationally.
ChaosVision will feature a music video clip channel, a visual arts and
multimedia channel, a live concert and festival channel and the Kgrind
extreme sports and alternative music channels.
ChaosRadio will operate as an online radio tuner and plans to develop a
‘click to buy’ online purchasing facility for users in the future.
ChaosMusic chief executive officer Rob Appel said the launch of the two
new content channels marked the company’s first step towards the delivery
of music entertainment to the merging digital media markets.
“ChaosMusic and ChaosVision will commence operations in the narrow-band
environment of the Internet but as higher bandwidth alternatives become
more popular these two services will be even more relevant. They will
further expand global promotional opportunities for Australian music,” said
Appel.
