Chinadotcom Forms E-Com JV in Taiwan

chinadotcom corp. has formed a joint venture with Taiwan’s Accton Technology Corp. called e-Direct
Corp.

Based in Taipei, e-Direct will be majority-owned by chinadotcom corporation and provide e-news, e-commerce and database direct marketing services to Internet users.

chinadotcom corporation will be the majority shareholder with a 60% stake and Accton Technology will hold 40% of the original shares of e-Direct Corporation.

“e-Direct represents a further reinforcement of our ‘Build, Distribute, Sell’* business model,” commented chinadotcom corporation Chief Operating Officer Peter Hamilton.

Hamilton said that the venture would provide e-commerce solutions, distribution via the chinadotcom’s portals, and sell advertising and sponsorshits through 24/7 Media Asia.

Accton’s e-news service has 78 e-news titles and allegedly adds 3 new e-news titles each month. Chinadotcom plans to use this material to expand content offerings on it portals.
