SINGAPORE — U.S.-headquartered Unisphere Networks, Inc., a provider of IP infrastructure enabling broadband data and voice services, has signed contracts with 14 service providers within Mainland China for its ERX-1400 edge routing switch.
“We are extremely excited at the growth that we have experienced upon entering the Chinese market over eight months ago,” said Brad Gray, Unisphere Networks’ South Asia regional director. “In the tremendously fast-growing and competitive market in China, we are thrilled that our ERX is now recognized as an established platform to deliver next-generation broadband IP services.”
Unisphere officials observed that as Chinese service providers are compelled to upgrade their network infrastructures to accommodate increasing demand for distance learning applications and wireless services, Unisphere is on hand to deliver a single platform that matches the wire-speed quality of service that these service providers require.
The company had deployed its ERX-1400 edge routing solution for Beijing Telecom in July last year, and is continuing deployment of the switch in network infrastructures across the country for both urban and rural telecom authorities such as: Changsha TA, Hangzhou CATV, Jilin TA, Jitong Networks, Ningbo TA, Urumuchi TA, Weifang TA, Weihai TA, Wuhan TA, Yichun TA, Zhenjiang TA, Zibo TA and Anhui TA.
Company officials said the ERX product line has the flexibility to scale proportionally to the business growth of customers and to support Broadband Remote Access Server (BRAS) services, including Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), Ethernet-to-home with gigabit aggregation, and high-density E1/T1 and FE1/FT1 aggregation.
