Chinese Travel Site Partners with Bank of China

May 5, 2000

Et-China.com, a Chinese e-commerce travel
Web site, is partnering with The Bank of China for credit card
processing help.

Et-China.com Chief Executive Officer Matthew Ng said the deal “is significant because of the
bank’s dominant market share in processing foreign credit cards and ePOS
(Point of Sales) terminal transactions, which allow passengers in China to
key in their credit card numbers and expiration dates online and immediately
generate a sales voucher in one of Et-China.com direct sales outlets.”

The voucher is then used for signature/verification when passengers collect
their tickets with appropriate identification (passport, ID card) and the
credit card, which was used for payment.

The Bank of China is the oldest financial institution in The People’s
Republic of China, Ng said.

Et-China.com provides online domestic (China) and international air travel
booking and ticketing, travel and hotel package reservations, as well as
travel-related information such as weather, city maps, etc.

Et-China.com
offers real time flight and departure information at Baiyun International
Airport in Guangzhou, individual seat selection and meal selection on all
China Southern Airlines’ flights as well as luggage and cargo information.
