Cisco, NCR Open Tech Lab in Dubai

Cisco Systems Middle East and NCR Corp. have launched their new
Multiservice Networking Center in Dubai.

This
technology center, claimed to be the first of its kind in the Middle East
and one of
only
four similar centers in the world, is
intended to assist businesses in evaluating and implementing
data/voice/video network technologies.

The center aims to address the needs of the rapidly increasing
number of companies in the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe that
are interested in bringing together their data, voice and video
networking to reduce operational costs, particularly for organizations with
large networks connecting multiple locations.

Rowland Griffiths, regional
director of Cisco Systems Middle East, said that his company strongly
supports the initiative and expects the center to demonstrate “tangible
business benefits” of Cisco’s products.

The new Multiservice Networking Center in Dubai is part of a global
roll-out of the new convergence technology. The
center spotlights multiservice products from Cisco
Systems, including demonstrations of Cisco’s IGX WAN switches.

NCR also provides a ‘Rapid Prototype’ Service through the center, which
allows
organizations to trial the technology in the company’s own environment. NCR
consultant evaluations are also offered.
