Time Warner has set up a comprehensive Asia content site, called AsiaNow, by bringing together the resources of its three brands: CNN Interactive, Time and Asiaweek.
The site provides users with Asian-focused news, business, entertainment, sports and travel channels.
Observers believe that AsiaNow will excell by leveraging the resources and the following of the three publications. CNN alone has six bureaus and 50 news professionals in its Hong Kong production center.
Nevertheless, sources say that, in AsiaNow’s developmental stages, there was some debate among staff at the three publications about how the super-site should be branded and which would be the lead publication.
CNN, the largest of three, won out with AsiaNow being linked from CNN.com.
