CompuServe and MarketWatch.com Thursday partnered to create a new financial news center on the online service.
The co-branded site will give CompuServe users access to stories on global market developments and profiles of Wall Street’s most prominent names. Starting Thursday, the site will be available through CompuServe’s personal finance channel as well as the service’s main menu.
“From day one, our mission has been to provide the best market analysis on the Internet. In today’s economy, investors need to know what’s happening as it happens, not the next day or the following week. Our partnership with CompuServe is a testament not only to the quality of our journalism, but that the CBS.MarketWatch.com service is becoming the standard for business news on the Internet,” said Larry Kramer, MarketWatch.com’s president and chief executive officer.
Bill Bishop, MarketWatch’s vice president of business development said the strength of CompuServe’s brand is one of the most valuable aspects of the partnership.
“Our goal is to partner with the major players on the Internet to widely distribute our content to individuals searching for financial news on the Web. CompuServe represents one of the leading Internet brands whose business-oriented members should greatly benefit from the financial news center,” he said.
