AOL subsidiary CompuServe Tuesday selected business-to-business Internet messaging provider Critical Path, Inc. to provide Web-based e-mail services to its 2 million members.

Doug Hickey, Critical Path’s president and CEO, called the decision a “testament to our leadership
position and our patent pending technologies.”

The move is the third alliance announced today by major Internet player AOL.

Marketing and content agreements with drkoop.com and autoweb.com have sent the respective companies’ stocks skyrocketing Tuesday morning.

CustomTracks Corp. recently dismissed a confidentiality agreement violation lawsuit against Critical Path.

In the last month, Critical Path has purchased calendar and scheduling utility provider Amplitude Software Corp. and rival outsourced e-mail company Fabrik.
