Quebec-based Agents Technologies Corporation announced this week it is shipping the Copernic 98plus professional search agent software.
The product is designed to search 17 content-specific channel sets of leading Web sites by categorizing the most relevant sites, newsgroups, and other Internet data in a given content area, and enables users to customize by adding or prioritizing search targets.
In addition, Agents said the software has the capacity to simultaneously search 121 of the most important engines and direct specific channels.
Some searchable channel sets on Copernic 98plus include entertainment, news, sports, kids, computing, software, e-mail addresses, travel, and newsgroups.
Copernic 98plus costs $29.95 and contains all 17 channel sets, plus free updates to additional channels expected to be released between version upgrades. It can be purchased directly from the company Web site and in over 200 cyberstores on Techwave, Buysoftware, Netsales, Digital River, MSN, AOL, Prodigy, CNET, and CompuServe.
Copernic 98, Agents’ recently announced free version, which includes three major channel sets, is available at 65 download sites, including ZDNet, CNET, and TUCOWS.
