[London, ENGLAND] Unified communications software developer
CyberTel, Inc. announced Wednesday it is taking its PURE-PLAY-IP
telecom architecture to the U.K. and other markets in Europe.
CyberTel has opened an office in London and has appointed
Gregory Lee, formerly marketing director of Filter (UK) Ltd.,
as head of U.K. operations.
The market for telecoms provisioning software — software that
enables carriers to provision value added services to their
subscribers — is booming in the U.K. where it even outpaces
the U.S. market. CyberTel is keen to get a slice of the
action.
“After having established a presence in Japan and Asia, we are
very excited to now start addressing opportunities in the
European market, which we expect will be one of the largest
IP Telecom markets in the future,” said CyberTel President and
Chief Executive Mario Dal Canto.
CyberTel’s PURE-PLAY-IP software environment enables carriers,
ASPs, ISPs and large companies to provision services such as
e-mail, fax, phone, voicemail and pager, regardless of network
type or consumer appliance. Users can cross from one service
to another, for example by responding to e-mail from a phone or
replying to voicemail from an e-mail account.
Gregory Lee said that CyberTel is currently pursuing partnerships
with leading British and European telecoms carriers to help them
deliver unified communications services to millions of subscribers.
“Because our PURE-PLAY-IP architecture will work on any platform
and with any landline or wireless device, the possibilities for
application in the U.K. and throughout Europe are virtually
limitless,” said Lee.
Founded in 1998 and based in New Jersey, CyberTel is privately
funded.
