Continuing to sign deals with major telcos to roll out
a global B2B e-commerce marketplace, Commerce One Wednesday inked an agreement with Deutsche Telekom AG for the
creation of the Deutsche Telekom MarketPlace.

Using the Commerce One MarketSite portal solution, Deutsche Telekom
MarketPlace is expected to streamline the buying and selling of goods and
services among businesses throughout Continental Europe, the companies said.

A similar deal was signed yesterday with Swisscom AG for a Central European
Marketplace.

Links with other Commerce One MarketSite portals around
the world will facilitate global access for European buyers and suppliers
through the Commerce One Global Trading Web.

Deutsche Telekom will operate
Deutsche Telekom MarketPlace and take a seat on the Commerce One Global
Trading Web Advisory Council.

On its marketplace site, Deutsche Telekom will manage catalog content and
trading
communities and offer subscription-based access to Commerce One BuySite
Portal Edition. The company is also authorized to resell Commerce One BuySite
Enterprise and Portal Editions.

“The Deutsche Telekom/Commerce One alliance is a major new development in
Europe’s burgeoning e-commerce sector and specifically in
business-to-business e-commerce,” said Detlev Buchal, Deutsche Telekom’s
board member responsible for product marketing.
