E-plicity, Bell Mobility Launch Mobile EC

[Sainte Foy, CANADA] Bell Mobility and e-plicity have introduced
North America’s first wireless payment processing service designed
for the Enterprise market.

The product, PayLink, allows enterprise businesses with workers in
the field to process and authorize their customer’s cash, credit
card, and corporate account transactions in real time.

The product is delivered over Bell Mobility’s digital territory via
digital PCS phones equipped with the Mobile Browser service.

The two companies developed their partnership nearly two years ago
when e-plicity was one of the successfully funded projects through
Bell Mobility’s R&D program.

“The commercialization of this product is the result of Bell
Mobility’s Research and Development department, said Luc Arpin,
senior vice-president of Quebec and Corporate Sales at Bell Mobility.

“PayLink has significant growth potential as it will benefit our
enterprise customers and is perfectly aligned with our development
strategy.”

Enterprise in such industries as sales, transportation, delivery and
in-home sales, are expected to realize the business benefits of
PayLink. By enabling acceptance of financial transactions with
customers in the field, businesses will have real-time information to
financial account status.

As well, businesses will be able to offer their customers a payment
choice-cash, major credit card, and corporate account. The credit
card validation is done through BCE Emergis’ secure network and its
AssurePay service, which makes over 140 million transactions a year.

Bell Mobility and e-plicity’s first enterprise customer for PayLink is
Taxi Coop Sainte-Foy, a member of the Quebec Taxi Industry
Association, representing over 150 taxi drivers in Quebec city.
