ebookers.com Signs Deal with Top Swiss ISP

[London, ENGLAND] European online travel company
ebookers.com announced Friday a content deal with
top Swiss Internet service provider Bluewin
Internet Portal.

As a result of the agreement, ebookers.com’s
Swiss flight booking engine will be integrated
into the Bluewin Travel Channel. The deal covers
other services, too, including the addition of
hotel and rent-a-car booking facilities, and
joint promotions.

Dinesh Dhamija, chief executive of ebookers.com,
reported that visits to ebookers.com rose 33 percent
over the last quarter to 7.5 million.

“Helping drive this strong growth has been our
aggressive e-filliate and partnership programme,
which we are replicating throughout all our 11
integrated European operations,” said Dhamija.

He added: “If done correctly, these type of agreements
can substantially increase visitor numbers at minimal
or no cost. ebookers.com now has over 1,000 e-filliates
across Europe, of all types, driving increasing numbers
of site visits.”

By signing the deal with Bluewin, ebookers hopes to
secure the long-term growth and success of its Swiss
operation.

Speaking for Bluewin, Senior Producer Rolf Ochsenbein
said he believed ebookers.com offers the most
attractive fares and has the best technology of the
online travel operators in Europe.

“We are integrating ebookers.com into the German and
the French speaking Travel Channels of our portal,”
said Ochsenbein.

Established four years ago, Bluewin provides Internet
services for half a million private and small-office
customers in Switzerland. Its portal gets more than
60 million pageviews per month, not only for mainstream
subjects such as finance, music, cinema and games —
but also for such topics as snowboarding, to be found
at terminal-b.com.

ebookers.com operates across Europe in eleven countries:
Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands,
Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
