Eloquent, Inc. announced Demonstrator!, a feature of the vendor’s Presenter! package designed for capturing and streaming software demonstrations via the World Wide Web.

Uniquely, it includes the new ScreenTracks datatype, allowing speakers to incorporate software demonstrations into their Eloquent presentations.

“In the technology industry, nearly every new product launch or sales training event includes a software demonstration and yet, until now, using streaming media for this vital aspect of training was impossible at low bandwidth connections,” said Cliff Reid, president and CEO of Eloquent. “Demonstrator! will make online learning and knowledge deployment via the intranet a must-have for the global enterprise.”

Companies can use PC screen capture tools such as Lotus ScreenCAM or
Hyperionics HyperCam to capture a software demonstration. With
Demonstrator! they can then stream these demonstrations over the Internet,
complete with the synchronized audio of the speaker, on bandwidths as low
as 28.8 kbps, Eloquent said.

The vendor also announced the release of Presenter! Server Version 3.1,
a new release of its Web-based enterprise learning and knowledge
deployment software. Besides the Demonstrator! feature, the new software
offers custom queries of the event and user database, intelligent screen sizing, firewall support, and a new 8K mid-range audio codec.
