Exostar Chooses b2bScene for Aerospace, Defense E-Marketing

[Waterloo, CANADA] b2bScene, a division of Open Text (NASDAQ:OTEX, TSE:OTC),
has been chosen by Exostar to host a secure global extranet
for the development of the Exostar aerospace marketplace.

Exostar was formed by some of the world’s main aerospace and defense
companies to provide an open Internet trading exchange for aerospace
and defense suppliers and buyers of all sizes.

Exostar’s major aerospace partners include BAE Systems, Boeing,
Lockheed Martin, and Raytheon, which together control a total
combined procurement outlay of $71 billion.

b2bScene’s extranet solution, combined with its suite of value-added
online services, will help Exostar collaborate with its global
community of aerospace companies in real-time over the Web.

The extranet solution leverages Open Text’s Livelink to provide an
online environment for B2B collaboration including applications such
as document management, group scheduling, business process
automation, full-text search, tasks, and communication.

The solution is offered on a secure, high-performance, reliable
hosting infrastructure.

“The b2bScene community model unites our staff and customers online,
accelerating service implementation time, saving us money and
enhancing customer service,” said Stephen O’Sullivan, Exostar
executive vice president for Sales and Marketing.

According to David Yockelson, senior vice president and director of
Electronic Business Strategies at META Group, “Hosted collaborative
technologies such as those provided by b2bScene deliver the agility
required by organizations seeking to accelerate their time to market.”

“By rapidly deploying online business communities, these
organizations can span internal and external process and relationship
boundaries to quickly engage other parties in complex business
initiatives,” he said.
