Seattle’s Onvia.com and the Forum for Women Entrpereneurs have announced an alliance to provide women business owners with Onvia’s small business services.
The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE) is an entrepreneurial organization for women building and leading high-growth technology and life science companies.
Under the terms of the agreement, Onvia will integrate a co-branded version of its site into the FWE web site, providing a marketplace for FWE members to buy, sell and bid on critical business services and products, get current small business news, and access free productivity tools, business forms and worksheets.
“Women entrepreneurs don’t have a lot of time to shop around for core business products and services,” says Denise Brosseau, president and co-founder of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs. “Rather than labor over what kind of phone system to implement or how to find their next customer, they can now use Onvia’s business purchasing center, auctions, customer lead generation and quote service to get what they need, as well as connect with other growing businesses.”
According to the Small Business Administration, in 1999 there were more than 8 million women-owned small businesses in the U.S., employing over 27 million people.
FWE has offices in Seattle, the Bay Area, and Los Angeles, and membership numbers over 1000.
