GeoCities Monday teamed up with RealNetworks Inc. to offer streaming media
capabilities to users of the online community.

GeoCities will install RealSystem G2 RealServers and will give all its
users a free trial period, allowing them to stream multimedia content from
their Web sites. GeoCities will also provide RealProducer G2 for free.

GeoCities said the agreement will allow its small business users to create
a wide range of educational and promotional content. Consumers will also
add multimedia content to their sites.

“We identified RealSystem G2 as the solution that would making adding audio
and video integration easy for our members. This represents the next great
technical innovation for personal Internet publishers,” said Thomas Evans,
GeoCities president and chief executive officer.

The online community did not detail pricing for the service once the free
trial ends.
