InfoSpace, Inc. has entered into an agreement under which Lucent Technologies will market InfoSpace’s suite of services to its customers worldwide.
Through this non-exclusive agreement, Lucent will market the InfoSpace platform.
By entering into Lucent’s Cooperative Innovations Program, InfoSpace’s geo-coded technology and services will make use of Lucent’s Mobile Internet Gateway for location-based searches, such as door-to-door directions from the user’s actual location, to proximity-based business directories.
“Through this collaboration, Lucent and InfoSpace will be among the first to offer a complete and flexible platform of data and transaction services that will empower wireless users with new ways to effectively conduct commerce, get information, and communicate,” said Sandip Mukerjee, director of product management and marketing-Mobile Internet for Lucent Technologies.
Cooperative Innovations is Lucent’s affiliates program, which was established in 1997 to supplement Lucent-developed and branded solutions to streamline internal operations for wireless operators or enable them to introduce revenue-generating services.
