Infosys Dives Into E-Commerce

Shares of software consulting firm Infosys Technologies
Ltd.
, the only Indian company that trades in the United States, saw new highs following the company’s
strategic alliance with CyberSource
Corp.
, a provider of e-commerce transaction processing services.

Under the agreement, Infosys will deliver scalable solutions using
CyberSource services and technologies, with emphasis on speed-to-market and
tight integration to back-end systems. Infosys systems will now be fully
integrated with CyberSource products and services for Internet merchants.

“Our alignment with Infosys benefits customers by enabling reliable
deployment of e-commerce solutions on time and on budget,” said Steve
Klebe, CyberSource’s vice president for strategic alliances. “Our
customers will benefit from Infosys’ expertise in providing complete
e-commerce solutions integrated with back-end systems that shorten
time-to-market cycles.”

“This alliance complements both organizations, utilizing CyberSource
technologies and Infosys’ global delivery approach to e-commerce
implementation,” stated Phaneesh Murthy, Infosys senior vice president, worldwide
sales.

The two companies expect that the new alliance will further the goal of
delivering jointly produced solutions to global customers. CyberSource
boasts 400 Internet solution customers worldwide, through their offering of
payment, tax, risk management, distribution control, and fulfillment
management services.
