[January 19] Software giant Infosys Technologies Ltd. [Nasdaq:INFY] will establish its world’s-largest facility on the outskirts of Bangalore, to the tune of $127 million.

The proposed software development complex would be set up over 100 acres near Wipro Ltd.’s facility in Sarjapur, 15 km from Bangalore, and will provide jobs to 7,120 persons, Karnataka Industries Minister R.V. Deshpande announced at a news conference Thursday.

Infosys already has a 42-acre campus at Electronics City, Bangalore. It currently has about 10,000 employees in its various units worldwide.

The government has directed the Karnataka Area Industrial development board to acquire 100 acres of land on Hosur-Sarjapur Road and hand it over to Infosys by the end of March. The government has also sanctioned an additional 100 acres of land for Infosys in Mysore to expand its facilities.
