AOL (NYSE:AOL) plans to sell majority equity in a new entity that rolls its AOL France and (pending) CompuServe France into a larger online service with 200,000 users. The venture combines Bertelsmann, Canal+ and Cegetel Internet services under the AOL banner.
Quarterdeck (NASDAQ:QDEK) reports its first quarter fiscal 1998 ending December 31, 1997 revenue is $20.6 million, vs. $24.4 million 1Q96. Net income hits $316,000, or $.01 basic earnings per share, vs. $20,000 1Q96. Working capital increases to $17.9 million from $10.9 million.
