Investor enthusiasm for Internet stocks soared again today as ISDEX,
Internet Stock Index, jumped more than 2.5% to 149.26.

This representative stock index of 50 Internet-focused companies includes many of the top firms whose shares hover at or near all-time highs.

Today’s resurgence in Internet stocks follows a torrid March which saw shares of security software makers in particular zoom.

Verisign (NASDAQ:VRSN), Secure Computing (NASDAQ:SCUR), CheckPoint Software (NASDAQ:CHKPF), and Axent (NASDAQ:AXNT) received enormous investor attention especially as Wall Street expects a consolidation craze to erupt any moment in this highly-fragmented segment.
