  • USWeb/CKS (NASDAQ:USWB) founder Joe “X-Files” Firmage starts his own venture catalyst firm to feed USWeb clients. Start up firms in the effort will use USWeb as its Web site builder/designer/marketer.
  • GoTo.com (NASDAQ:GOTO) shares debut today and sure enough end up in the low $20s as predicted here. Priced at $15, hits a $28.50 per share high before closing at $22.375. The pay for placement ad-search service raises $90 million. I expect more search services and ad firms to go this route with pricing. It’s a better model than ad banners.
  • RealNetworks (NASDAQ:RNWK) prices 4 million shares in a follow-on offering at $58. The race is on more than ever to establish a streaming media leader, or maintain it. Microsoft moves in with Media Player and MP3 moves in with audio. I believe RealNetwork should consider selling to AOL.
