IT Hiring Shows Signs of Growth

Some promising news on the state of the IT jobs market: Job openings are beginning to proliferate and salaries are ticking back up to pre-downturn levels, according to a new study.

But don’t celebrate just yet. Large enterprises are most likely to be the ones doing the majority of the hiring — filling critical positions that have been vacant during the downturn — while smaller tech firms continue to play things conservatively. CIO Update has the story.


A new survey of the IT employment marketplace released this week indicates that some job listings and wages are beginning to return as the economy begins to recover.


However, the survey, by Janco Associates, found that work opportunities and compensation are not rebounding across the board. Bigger, it turns out, is better.
