Legalopinion.com Strikes Ad Effort

In an effort to scale back marketing budgets, legalopinion.com and Venture Capital Media have mutually agreed to end the $42 million advertising campaign launched early this year.

After completing the first round of advertising with VCM, management at both firms have decided that, with the upcoming launch of LegalCare, the marketing budget can be better utilized working under a different format.

The new LegalCare service will provide legal coverage under a variety of subscriber services packages.

Efforts will be made to focus on LegalCare, which will include the creation of regional LegalCare sales strike teams, and nationally syndicated talk radio shows that spotlight LegalCare and TaxPert, among other efforts.

“The tech correction of the spring of 2000 makes it hard to justify brand advertising in favor of focusing on those products and services that will drive us to profitability,” says John Marencik, CEO of legalopinion.com. “The marketing strategy created with the VCM deal simply doesn’t pay for either side in this climate.”
