DALLAS, June 23–Texas Instruments , the
leader in digital signal processors (DSP) and analog semiconductors,
announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to acquire Alantro
Communications, a privately held company that is shaping the
development of IEEE 802.11 wireless local area networking technology. Santa
Rosa-based Alantro Communications will
become part of TI’s Broadband Access Group
and operate under the Texas Instruments name. Under the terms of the
agreement, TI common stock will be exchanged for all outstanding shares of
Alantro for an aggregate transaction value of $300 million.

MUMBAI, India, June 23–ICICI Infotech Services Limited
(IISL), a wholly owned subsidiary of ICICI Limited ,
announced the acquisition of U.S.-based Ivory Consulting Group, a
major software services provider in the United States. The acquisition has
been undertaken by the New Jersey-based ICICI Infotech Inc., the U.S. arm
of IISL. The acquisition will provide ICICI Infotech Inc. a strong customer
base and a highly skilled technical resource pool, thereby enabling the
company to get a strong resource and client base in the U.S. market.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
