Lotus Development Corp. this week released version six of its Organizer personal information manager, which now includes extended Internet functionality.

The new Web section of the product provides bookmark-like functionality to Organizer users,
allowing them to store their URLs and user name/password information for secure sites, the company said. Once an entered site is accessed, either through Organizer or the user’s standard browser, the
ID/Password information is supplied automatically.

Organizer also includes new HTML publishing features, designed to allow users to publish both calendar and contact information to the Web. The calendaring functions now support the iCalendar, vCalendar, and vCard standards, meaning that users can schedule meetings with any other user whose software
supports iCalendar.

Organizer is expected to begin shipping on October 1st and should be generally available in early
October. The retail price is $79; a $20 rebate will be available for current Organizer users or users of
competing PIMs.
