Are you getting too lazy to go out to the clubs to check out the hottest DJs? Many people are. Through webcasts of raves and clubs, people can experience their favorite live DJs.
One of Seattle’s streaming media players, Loudeye Technologies Inc., has got their foot in the door with this growing trend.
The company was recently chosen by Digital Club Network, the world’s largest Webcaster of live music, to help evolve a more efficient and scalable network infrastructure, and to improve the quality of DCN’s streaming audio and video for their rapidly expanding roster of music clubs.
Loudeye is currently working with DCN to design a scalable digital media infrastructure that will improve live performance capture quality, increase operational efficiencies, streamline content distribution and heighten the end-user experience.
DCN has formed exclusive relationships with well-established music venues around the country and is outfitting its affiliate venues with high-speed Internet connections and custom designed audio, video and computer hardware.
According to DCN’s COO Usher Winslett, Loudeye’s ability to offer integrated, complex, scalable and time-critical solutions has enabled Digital Club Network to stay focused on its key strategies and objectives. “Our business requires partners who can provide high-quality solutions coupled with a thorough understanding of the digital media space.”
Loudeye and DCN successfully worked together most recently on the Digital Club Festival during which over 200 live performances were Webcasted over a four-day period.
“We were able to offer an unbiased approach to determine the necessary digital media, business, and technical solutions. We enabled Digital Club Network to remain focused on their business, while we helped accelerate the implementation of digital media into their network,” says Brent Shepherd, minister of intellectual capital and extraordinary solutions, and VP of consulting services for Loudeye Technologies, Inc.
