E-mail provider Mail.com Inc. Tuesday acquired Lansoft Inc., a corporate e-mail management and Web hosting company, in a bid to expand its corporate customer base and strengthen its messaging technology.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mail.com (MAIL) will gain about 690 corporate customers with the acquisition.

“This transaction is consistent with our strategy to acquire companies with a complementary business-to-business team and established customer base to accelerate our penetration of the business messaging market,” said Gerald Gorman, Mail.com’s chairman and chief executive officer.

“As the outsourcing market for mission critical Internet messaging services continues its rapid expansion, companies are demanding a full suite of services and enterprise quality sales and support.”
