After closing down shop in early January as a result of a failed IPO, and inability to raise further private investment, the investors are now getting a small amount of their money back through the dale of Mercata’s content.

Sunnyvale, California-based ConsumerREVIEW.com, a source for consumer product information on the Web, today announced the acquisition of buying guides and product data from Mercata.

“The addition of product buying guides from Mercata will be tremendously valuable for consumers,” said Max Mancini, CEO of ConsumerREVIEW.com. “Now consumers can read detailed articles on hard to buy products like household appliances, electronics and baby gear along side consumer-generated reviews and ratings. This will allow our users to dig even deeper into their product research and make more confident, informed purchases.”

The buying guides will appear on ConsumerREVIEW.com and its network of vertical Web sites over the next few.
