International broking giant Merril Lynch (MERL)
announced its entrance into the Australian online
broking fray Friday, with the launch of Merrill Lynch
Online Australia. Merrill Lynch clients will be able
to trade Australian equities, see research and real
time stock quotes online.

The online service will not bypass Merrill’s
financial advisers, but offer a full broker service
online. Clients will also be able to view account
details online. A brokerage fee will be charged to
clients using the service to trade with their
traditional accounts.

Merrill Lynch representatives said pricing for the
new service has not yet been finalized.
