Microsoft Corp.Tuesday delayed the $650 million sale of its stake in Expedia Inc. to USA Networks.

Microsoft said the delay was a result of USA Network’s announced transfer of its entertainment assets to a joint venture with Vivendi Universal.

Microsoft announced the sale of its Expedia stake in July 2001, and had anticipated closing the transaction during the current quarter. The company now expects to close the transaction during the March or June quarter of 2002.
