Microsoft Sells 350 Million Windows 7 Licenses

Microsoft’s(NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows 7 operating system is no Vista and that’s good news for Microsoft.

After 18 months of Windows 7 availability, Microsoft has now sold some 350 million licenses for the system — helping Windows 7 retain its ranking as the fastest-selling operating system in PC history.

“The momentum we’ve seen and continue to see with Windows 7 is incredible. We are seeing good momentum with Internet Explorer 9 as well,” Microsoft spokesperson Brandon LeBlanc wrote on the Windows blog.

Microsoft recently updated its IE browser which could potentially help to drive sales of Windows 7 even higher. IE 9 is only available for Windows 7 and Vista.
