MSN Start Canada, the Canadian version of the Microsoft Network portal site, signed a distribution agreement with The docSpace Company to provide MSN Start users with managed file delivery and storage services.

MSN visitors will receive free docSpace Express accounts. DocSpace Express–characterized as a highly secure, 24×7 global “Web courier”–is an online delivery space designed to securely send and receive files and track
deliveries.

docSpace uploads, stores, and downloads multimedia files (documents, graphics, audio, etc.), notifies the recipients, and time/date stamps
file downloads, the company said.

“docSpace Express does with a Web browser what FedEx does with trucks and
planes” said Evan Chrapko, President & CEO of The docSpace Company. “We look
forward to helping MSN Start take its rightful place in the new economy by
offering an alternative to slow, expensive physical courier delivery.”

docSpace Express joins Hotmail–a free, Web-based e-mail service–in the range of MSN Start resources, which include MSN Newsview, MSN Financial Centre (a Canadian finance guide), Microsoft Expedia travel service, Internet Gaming Zone, and Microsoft Investor.

“We believe the docSpace Company can help us achieve the goal of making MSN Start at ca.msn.com the favorite starting place for Canadians on the Internet,” said
Ken Nickerson, General Manager, The Microsoft Network.
