National healthcare organization Mt. Sinai NYU Health Monday selected Seattle-based Aventail Corp.’s Aventail.Net managed service to provide infrastructure which will allow doctors and staff to securely access patient information on the Internet.

“Providing our physicians with state-of-the-art technology is a critical part of providing state-of-the-art care at Mt. Sinai,” said Fred Eisenberg, director of information security for Mt. Sinai. “The Aventail.Net solution enhances our ability to meet the information needs of our physicians and staff, at a greatly reduced cost over our previous methods. Best of all, they were able to meet our need for rapid implementation, reaching production-ready status ahead of a very tight deadline.”

Mt. Sinai anticipates making the system available to more than 4,000 doctors, nurses and administrative staff by the end of the year.
