As the national media devoted its attention to Whidbey Island this past weekend for the homecoming of the crew of 24, the base’s Web page became the command post for disseminating information.

The homecoming Web page, created just last week, provides info on everything from facts about the homecoming ceremony to the history of the VQ-1 squadron and the E-P3 aircraft.

And how does one become a Webmaster for the Navy?

A Navy spokesperson told seattle.internet.com that in the Navy, becoming a webmaster is by assignment from each command. “To our knowledge, there is no official webmaster training, as many are assigned the task because of past and personal experience with computers”.
