Waltham, MA-based Netegrity Inc. announced extended
capabilities for its SiteMinder secure user management solution for e-commerce
applications.
Version 3.5 offers better scalability, UNIX support and comprehensive
authentication and security measures for the deployment of e-commerce
applications including extranets, the company said.
“E-commerce applications are growing in strategic importance as a way of
transacting everyday business with customers,” said Barry Bycoff, president and CEO of Netegrity.
“The number of users accessing
these applications has created extreme requirements for scaleability and
reliability. In addition, they can consist of hundreds of individual
applications, resulting in a site that is difficult for end-users to navigate
and impossible for administrators to manage without a product like
SiteMinder,” he said.
SiteMinder provides centralized access control, single sign-on and distributed
management services across the building blocks required for e-commerce,
including security technologies and Web, application and directory servers.
Pricing was not disclosed.
“With SiteMinder v3.5 we are enabling our customers to dramatically expand
their user communities, deploy on their UNIX platforms, and easily adopt new
authentication technologies like digital certificates.”
