Network Commerce announced yesterday at a teleconference, that the company expects its Consumer Network to reach break-even in the fourth quarter of this year and to reach profitability in the first quarter of 2001.
Both of these predictions are on a pro forma basis consistent with current reporting, ahead of internal schedules. Network Commerce expects to achieve overall company profitability by Q4 2001.
The Network Commerce Consumer Network is comprised of ShopNow.com, BottomDollar.com, SpeedyClick.com, over 2,000 licensed Internet sites, and over 35,000 affiliate sites.
According to Dwayne Walker, chairman and CEO of Network Commerce Inc., the growth in his company is a result of maintaining three critical components to serve businesses: technology infrastructure, services, and customers.
“We provide (our partners) with the necessary things both to lower their cost of doing business, to gain access to the Internet from a commerce perspective, and then driving the growth of our partners’ businesses by delivering them customers,” says Walker.
