Domain name registrar Network Solutions, Inc. today announced that it signed agreements with six Internet service providers in Scandinavia to kick off its new International Premier Domain Registration Services partner program.
The new allies are: Telepartner A/S, Denmark; Groene Verket
AB, Sweden; Primaerdata AB, Norway; Euronet Systems, Sweden; WinEasy AB, Sweden; and Spray Domain AB, Sweden.
Under the agreements, the ISPs will be able to provide their customers with global domain name registration services for the .com, .net and
.org top-level domains, in addition to their country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) such as .dk in Denmark, .no in Norway, and .se in Sweden.
Also, Network Solutions said it plans to provide greater access to its
domain name services, dedicated account management, and 24-hour customer service and operations support in several languages.
The company expects to develop marketing channels in the Asia-Pacific, European and North American regions for its international program. The global project is based upon Network Solutions’ U.S. model which covers registration duties for over 50 U.S. ISPs and Web hosting companies and their customers.
“We’re seeing tremendous growth in dot com registrations worldwide as other
countries embrace the Internet–activity that replicates our experience in the U.S. market,” said Doug Wolford, Network Solutions’ senior vice president, sales and marketing. “Asia and Europe are coming on strong, and Network Solutions wants to be there with dot com registrations that are fast and easy.”
Network Solutions cited research from International Data Corp. that reveals 80% of Scandinavian businesses with computers are using the Internet, a number that is matched only by Australia in Internet usage.
