[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] ISP OzEmail Internet is on a renewed push behind Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) for the consumer market, with the launch of new offerings for its branded service.
The offerings now available through wap.ozemail.com.au OzEmail Media Network include weather service MyWeather, horoscopes, sports results service SportCentral and Web page viewer software driven through Australian search engine ANZWERS.
The viewer software will take the URL of a regular Web site listed from a search through ANZWERS, and attempt to convert the content to view from the mobile device being used.
Keen to draw users with the appeal of easier accessibility and faster information extraction, OzEmail has also developed its Stockwatch WAP service that was launched earlier this year. Stockwatch allows mobile access to a user’s customized portfolio, as well as real time stock quotes, news and market indices.
All of the new services will also have the ability to remember the last selection made by the user when they reenter – so if the user searches for weather in a particular city, the service will remember the last city selected and display this first.
