Pacific Access Launches B2B Community Network

Online directory service developer
Pacific Access has made a
play for the business-to-business market, with the launch of an Australian
buyers and sellers network based on the Yellow Pages Online site.

The vertical market space is the product of an exclusive deal between
Pacific Access and Phillipines-based international importer and exporter
community Global Sources.

The Yellow Pages Business to Business site will provide local business
with a gateway to this trading network.

The alliance is part of Pacific Access’ move to providing an
internationally-linked transactional hub, complete with information,
contact and e-commerce solutions for businesses.

The Australian Sources gateway will exist as a searchable catalogue of
businesses, supported by individual Web sites for each supplier.

In addition to these free and more generic listing services, advertisers
can also use their businesses via custom-built online catalogues.

The idea is to allow businesses to offer a growing network of buyers all
of the information they need at one source, according to Pacific Access
acting group manager for new media, Ian Leuchars.

Global Sources has networks in China, Thailand and South Africa, and
generates more than 48,000 sales enquiries per week.

The network also services retailers such as Hitachi, Siemens, NEC, Coles Myer and Woolworths.
