Dallas-based Pegasus Systems Inc. said that Recruit Co.
Ltd, a $3 billion classified magazine publisher based in Tokyo, will use
Pegasus’ services to provide hotel booking capabilities for its new Internet
travel agency, Recruit Isize Travel Company Ltd.

Just launched this week, Isize Travel is available on Japan’s
second largest Web portal www.isize.com, which claims more than 210
million page views per month.

Pegasus is a provider of hotel industry transaction processing and electronic
commerce services and operates its own Internet travel reservations site, TravelWeb.com. Financial arrangements
between the companies were not disclosed.

Pegasus’ Private-Label Reservations Service enables Isize Travel to provide
Japanese travel consumers with real-time online hotel reservation
capabilities and detailed property information on nearly 30,000 hotels in 165
countries.

For 3,000 of the hotels in the Pegasus Online Distribution Database, Isize
Travel will translate hotel content information into Japanese, with the
remaining hotels’ information available in English. Isize Travel’s site also
includes airline reservations, rail passes and 40,000 package tours.

“When searching for a best-of-breed partner for hotel reservations
capabilities on Recruit Isize Travel’s new Internet site, we found Pegasus
Systems’ combination of a rich hotel database and seamless reservation
connectivity to nearly 30,000 hotels around the world to be a clear winner,” said Mineo Fukuda, president and chief executive officer of Recruit Isize Travel.
