Beijing Bell Communications Equipment Manufacturing Company, whose products are used in switching, access and IP software sectors, has teamed with Portal Software to jointly extend the reach of the latter’s Infranet customer management and billing platform to traditional and emerging telcos offering voice, data, fixed line and wireless services.
“Our goal is to provide our customers with a reliable, stable, high-quality telecommunications service platform that enables them to increase customer satisfaction and boost their revenues,” said Deng Hua, president of Beijing Bell Communications Equipment Manufacturing, which is owned by China Railway Communications Signal Corporation, Shanghai Bell Corporation and Belgium-based SBB.
“We believe that the partnership with Portal Software will raise our competitiveness and enable us to deliver a robust migration path to China’s communications providers.”
According to Portal Software officials, the Infranet real-time customer management and billing platform offers flexible business and pricing functionality, powerful processing capability and unlimited scalability. Its unique infrastructure enables operators to meet current, converged business models and future demand for higher capacity and multiple content-rich voice and data services.
Beijing Bell provides integrated services including engineering design, deployment certification, technical training and after-sales service for technology products geared toward the telecom and IT markets.
The agreement with Portal Software will cover systems development, planning, installation, customization, configuration, and pre- and post-sales support and services. Beijing Bell will also receive training from Portal Software personnel.
Infranet has been deployed by some of the largest service providers and subsidiary operations in China, including China Telecom, China Mobile, Jitong Communications, China Railway Communications and ChinaNet.
