Preview Travel in Online Booking Deals

Preview Travel, Inc. announced today that it secured strategic partnerships with American Airlines Vacations and Royal Caribbean International to offer real-time booking of vacation packages and cruises.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Preview Travel said it is now offering online booking of vacation
packages to Orlando, Las Vegas and Cancun from American Airlines Vacations
and cruises to the Caribbean, Bahamas and Mexico from Royal Caribbean. All
are available on Preview Travel’s Web site and the company’s travel service on AOL.

More vacation packages and cruises will be added as they become available, the company said.

“We chose American Airlines Vacations and Royal Caribbean International
because they are innovators in bringing world-class vacation package and
cruise offerings to travelers around the world,” said Ken Orton, president
and CEO of Preview Travel. “We’re excited to be the first online travel
partner to offer real-time bookings of American Airlines Vacations and RCCL
packages.”

Preview Travel said the partnerships with American Airlines Vacations and Royal Caribbean International are part of an ongoing strategy aimed at diversifying the company’s online revenue stream. The company said its non-air bookings (revenue
derived from hotel, car, vacation package and cruise bookings) grew from 4% of total online revenue in Q1 ’97 to 21% in Q1 ’98.

In related news, Preview Travel also announced today that it is no longer pursuing its proposed acquisition of Adventure Media, Inc., and will instead pursue a strategic alliance with Adventure Media and its Travelon.com site.
