Web hosting firm Sage Networks, Inc. today announced
the acquisition of Web hosters GEN
International Inc., or Global Entrepreneurs Network.
The acquisition of St.
Petersburg, FL-based GEN will add approximately 10,000 domains
and a large network of resellers to Sage’s current operations, the company
said. Sage will consolidate operations into its Atlanta data facility and
customer care center.
No financial or personnel specifics were announced.
“With Sage Networks’ state of the art data centers and customer care, we
are confident our customers will receive quality service and support,” said
Thomas Heimann, founder of GEN International. “Sage’s broad range of hosted
products and services will help our customers to be successful with their
Web presence.”
The acquisition of GEN marks the tenth firm to come under Sage’s control.

strengthens its leadership position in the Web hosting market,” said
Bradley Feld, co-chairman of Sage Networks. “GEN
Internationals’ Web hosting offerings and broad reseller base are an
excellent fit for Sage.”
