SeaView Joins HomePlug Powerline Alliance

St. Petersburg, Fla.-based SeaView Video Technology Inc. Friday became the
newest member of the HomePlug Powerline Alliance, a group which evangelizes
powerline technology, which connects appliances to the Internet through
electrical lines.

The HomePlug Powerline Alliance already includes technology powerhouses like
Cisco Systems, Intel, 3Com, Motorola, Advanced Micro Devices, Compaq,
Conexant, Enikia, Intellon, Panasonic, Diamond Multimedia, Tandy Corp. and
Texas Instruments.

SeaView manufactures, distributes and sells marine, medical, and
security-related video camera equipment. It’s SecureView camera technology
is a wide-angle camera with the form factor of a standard PAR-38 floodlight.
It utilizes a proprietary powerline technology called IRFS to transmit live
video through the electrical wiring of homes, offices and other buildings.
Another version of the SecureView technology, SecureView DC, uses the same
principles to transmit live video through the electrical systems of
vehicles, trucks, buses, ships and railway rolling stock.

The company has also introduced a version of IRFS capable of LAN/WAN data
transmission over power lines.
