Snap!, Sony Electronics in Content Deal

May 5, 1998

CNET’s Snap! Internet service will provide content and search capabilities for Sony Electronics’ Web site Club VAIO under an agreement announced today.

Club VAIO is billed by Sony as an “interactive community” or “Internet
portal” for Sony VAIO (Video Audio Integrated Operation) computer owners.

The Snap!/Club VAIO co-branded site allows users to personalize news,
entertainment, and sports stories on their Club VAIO home page.

Also featured are Snap!’s directory services which include chat, classified ads, yellow and white pages, maps, stock quotes, sports scores, and more.

VAIO PCs and Notebooks were introduced in 1997 by Sony, combining 3D sound and a video source on a Trinitron monitor.
